Welcome to Green Creek Canine. We are located in Ishpeming, Michigan, just off of County Road 581. Heather Mongiat is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT-KA) and one of the only Fear Free Certified Animal Trainers in the Upper Peninsula. She has more than 20 years of personal and professional experience with dogs and has worked at a local veterinary clinic since 2004 as a veterinary assistant and receptionist.
In addition to training, Heather has volunteered with Superiorland Pet Partners since 2010. Over those years she has had four therapy dogs that she has trained, tested and volunteered with. She is also a team member at Conservation Dogs Collective Inc. with her yellow Labrador, Bronty, where they help find rare, invasive or just simply hard to find species.
Heather has had a passion for dogs since childhood, starting with labs and a recreational sled dog team of Siberian huskies. Along with her husband, two young boys and baby girl, she shares her home with one rescued pit bull, two yellow labs, one Dutch Shepherd, two cats, two horses, some chickens, and countless pet-sitting dogs that have become a part of the family.
Our Services
Boarding
$40 + $35 for each additional dog (per night)
Your pet will stay at Green Creek Canine in a home environment. Dogs must be comfortable being crated or in an indoor pen at night or when left alone for brief periods. We will discuss your pets specific needs prior to drop off. You must provide proof of current vaccinations.
Daycare
$30+ $25 for each additional dog (per day)
Your dog becomes part of the family for the day! During daycare your dog will go on walks, play with other dogs and have downtime as needed. Outside time is a huge part of Green Creek Canine’s daycare program. Dogs must be comfortable around other animals of all kinds, kids, and be current on vaccinations. In the event your pet could benefit from a break from the activity, they should be comfortable being crated or confined in an indoor pen.
Bath and blow dry (boarding dogs only)

At this time, this service is only available for boarding clients and must be arranged prior to their stay. Your pet will head home clean and fresh!
30 Minute hike (boarding dogs only)
$15 per 30 min.
Hikes are ideal if your dog just needs a quick outing during the day! Maybe they need some space from the other dogs or just to get out and get their sniff on.
Private training sessions
Starting at $75 per session
Private training sessions are available in outdoor public spaces throughout Marquette County, and in your home. Sessions last one hour, where Heather will work with you and your dog on the basics, advanced skills, or on problem behaviors you are noticing.
board and train
$100 per night
Board and train is on a case-by-case basis and will only be offered under the appropriate circumstances. Your dog will stay at Green Creek Canine in a home environment. Heather will spend time with your dog every day working on the issues you highlight, as well as the routine experiences of living in a home. When your pet is ready to return home to you, you will have an exit session to ensure you have the tools you need to bring your pet home and are set up for success. Individual sessions are strongly recommended following board and train.
House Sitting

This service is ideal if you have pets that prefer their own space. House sitting includes three, 30 minute home visits. Additional time can be added to each visit if needed (helpful for farms). At this time, we are unable to have somebody stay in the home overnight.

The visits are ideal if your pet just needs a quick break during the day! Visits are flexible and can include walks, fetch - whatever you would like in 30 minutes!
